Fashion Week NY 2010

Fashion Night Out
New York City

A week long global celebration. With fashion designers and department store struggling to survive in the recession, FNO comes at the best time of the year.

In effort to rally shoppers to spend, many retailers kept their doors open way after normal business hours. Retailers showcased their new collection and even offered special discounts, while designers made special appearances at their own stores.

FNO also had promotional t-shirts that were sold to benefit the 911 memorial, in addition to  special drop off locations for clothes to benefit HIV/AIDS organizations. Mayor Bloomberg said it best "Fashion is an outlet for creativity and self expression. New York City inspires designers of all ilks not just Calvin Klein and Carolina Herrera, but the you seamstress and Williamsburg." So along with my fellow blogger Pat (who writes "The Diary of a Divine Diva" at www.thediaryofadivinediva.com), we attended FNO at Re'dress in Williamsburg Brooklyn, a vintage and resale clothing boutique that caters to full figured women.
